Today your guides are going to be waiting for you at the Pacuare River entrance in La Cruz, with rafts and equipment ready. You'll begin by participating in a brief safety and gear orientation where the river guides are going to equip you with all that you'll need to navigate the river and rapids. They will also provide you with some simple instructions on how to paddle and safely enjoy the adventure ahead. Soon after, it will be time to launch, and you'll begin the rafting voyage into Pacuare Outdoor Center Lodge. You are going to stop on the way to enjoy a hearty and healthy picnic lunch and spend as much time as possible in the river, absorbing as much of the spectacular natural surroundings as possible, as you meander through Class II and III rapids. When you arrive at the lodge, enjoy a bit of time to rest and familiarize yourself with the lodge. During the evening, settle in for dinner alongside your river guides.

Pacuare Outdoor Center Rio Vista Lodge
Completed in December 2022, Rio Vista Lodge is the newest lodge on the Pacuare River. A short distance from the original Pacuare Eco-Lodge, Rio Vista has a stunning upriver view of the Pacuare and the jungle canyon. There is nothing better than completing a day of Pacuare river rafting and then sleeping in those cabins. The beds are one of a kind: Custom built to their specifications and made by hand in Costa Rica. Complemented with both the softest cotton sheets they could source and the sound of the river, falling into a relaxing sleep won't take long at all. Rio Vista Lodge was built facing south, directly upstream, giving you a long view of the Pacuare. Building Rio Vista higher up in the canyon is a key advantage of being immersed in the river and the canyon.
