Petra to Aqaba and the Red Sea
Start your Petra experience with a visit to Little Petra, which has a great resemblance to its big brother Petra. Little Petra is thought to have served as an agricultural center, trading and resupply post for camel caravans visiting the main city of Petra during the Nabataean period. Continue to Petra's main sites, take a buggy to the starting point of the trail to reach the Monastery and then take the stairs down and continue to Petra Archeological Park. See the sites on the main trail including the Siq, Treasury, the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, the Colonnaded Street and the Girl's Palace. After Petra, transfer to Aqaba (approx. 2 hr drive). Aqaba is the only coastal city in Jordan on the Red Sea. Aqaba is the perfect destination to enjoy the sun and lounge by the beach or pool.
